Hello, I am Thyl (pronounced “Teel”) the creator of Silvestours and your guide and driver. I take joy in guiding tours on a small and personal scale. I research original itineraries to find places that are interesting and hard to find. We often go far from the normal road – adding a lot of wear and tear to my jeep – to experience the most beautiful landscapes. I am an explorer and a landscape painter as well as a nature and history enthusiast. I am of mixed origin and speak English, French, Dutch and Portuguese. For those of you interested in a river cruise I regret that I no longer do boat tours. Up until recently I was allowed to navigate alone with customers on the river (because I have a small boat and do not go out to sea). Now the rules have changed and I have to employ a second crew member. Not only is this an extra cost but it is also difficult to organize as the times of the high tide change every day on the river… so I have decided to let this activity go.

If you come by foot from Silves it is on the other side of the pedestrian bridge “Ponte Romana”.
If you come by car this is an easy place to park. From the highway or from Lagoa, you will descend a hill down to Silves. At the top of the hill, there is a small tunnel. You can turn left 750 meters after the tunnel, opposite a pet and garden shop, and park your car.
